I feel that I should throw out a little about myself. To begin with, I am not a pro player, I wouldn’t even consider myself a good player, more middle of the road. I’ve been playing poker off and on for a couple years but have decided to really start dedicating some serious time to it. I primarily play SnG’s ($20) on Absolute. Sometimes I’ll throw myself in a tourney (one I placed 6th in recently with 150 entree’s) and try to stay away from the cash games(still play them though). I’ve read a few books that I recommend for some good foundation play.
Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide
Kill Everyone ~Lee Nelson, Tysen Streib, and Kim Lee
Sit ‘n Go Strategy ~ Collin Moshman
Online Ace ~ Scott Fischman
There is one book that I do not recommend. I admit I didn’t read it from cover to cover, but what I skimmed through and read I didn’t really agree with alot:
Killer Poker Online ~ John Vorhaus
Little about me:
I’m originally from Rochester Minnesota. After graduating with a Law Enforcement degree, I joined the Army in the infantry. I’m currently waiting on a medical discharge because my left eye is blind. I have a passion for cooking and plan on attending L’Academie De Cuisine once I am discharged.
My goal for this blog is to track my progress over the years and hopefully help people out with my experience as I grow. Poker is obviously a fast paced game, you can be chip lead one moment and then short stacked thirty minutes later (even if you are playing “correctly”) I also hope that this blog will help me not make donk calls or raises. Hopefully this blog will be in the back of my mind for someone coming by and leaving me a comment on how crappy I played a particular hand. Who knows, maybe no one will read this besides me and my mom.
