It certainly is looking that way. With 9 days left to go this month, I’m already up a healthy $330 with about $160 or so coming since I made the move up to 10NL like 4 days ago. Based on my calculations, if I hit my 50k hand goal, I should easily hit the $500 mark as long as I don’t run like total crap. Pretty sick, imo, since I started this month at 2nl with like $70 in my account.
Crossed the +$300 tonight. Things seem to be going pretty great so far. Hopefully I make 25NL by the end of the month.
So, I’ve been crushing 10NL all day, so I’m here to stay now. If I keep up the pace and hit my monthly goal of 50k hands, I should make Silverstar and hopefully be close to or at 25NL by the end of the month. March went from being an awesome month, to kinda lame, to really sucking, and back to awesome. 19 days and 30k hands down.
So after that last botched attempt at 10NL, I regrouped, played really well, crushed some donks, and made enough to try again.
I feel I’m finally starting to re-adjust to the micro mentality and playing much much better. I amped up my PF agression (from like 17/14 to 24/20) and really started exploiting all the common mistakes these guys make. Obviously the biggest mistake most players in the micros make is playing too many hands. So just isolate the hell out of them when you’re in position and force them to play big pots, OOP, with marginal hands. Keep it up, and eventually they will make a big mistake. Bad players make the worst possible adjustments to excessive agression.
So I took my shot at 10NL again this morning. Session got cut short due to my sister dropping by so I only managed like 600 hands. But the results were good, +$26. So this puts me back on pace to make SilverStar by the end of the month and I’m only like 10 FPP’s away from trying my hand at another 210 satty for hopefully an easy T$11. Anyways, the graphs :
So I had enough to start taking shots at 10NL today. So since I was moving up in limits, naturally variance decided to hit me in the face with a baseball bat. KK<AA AIPF 3 times, couldn’t win a showdown, C-bets getting raised constantly. Horrible day, time to regroup. Hopefully I can recover quick enough to try again by Wed/Thu and still have a shot at making SilverStar this month.
Prior to today, the last week went very well. In fact, today was my first losing day this month since the 1st, and I only played like 80 hands that day. I’m gonna try to grind out a ton of hands tomorrow, hopefully like 4k or so and hopefully regain some lost ground.
So a couple months ago I had a real rough go of it. I went on a huge downswing that put me on super life tilt. I cashed out my whole roll and stopped playing poker entirely. Well last month I made my triumphant return to the poker world, with a challenge.
I put $50 in my PokerStars account on February 6th. By August 6th I plan to have made over $10,000 playing strictly NLHE cash games. I will make no further deposits, use fairly standard 25/20 bankroll managment, and only money won playing NLHE cash games will be counted. I will however be able to use money won playing 210FPP and 5400FPP sattelites for my bankroll, it just won’t be counted towards my total money won.
February was a little rough. I didn’t get to put in a ton of hands due to illness and later I had internet issues. I ran well below EV in all-in pots and probably even more below EV in non all-in pots. Still, it was profits so musn’t compain. March has been infinitely better. I’m well on pace to hit my target of 50k hands, and should be close to taking shots at 10NL by the weekend.
