Now here’s a poker quote

I was steaming from a terrible session last night when I came across this quote on 2+2. I’m not sure who originally said it, but Gigabet referenced it in a lengthy post about success and failure.

“Everybody will eventually run worse than they thought was possible. The difference between a winner and a loser is the latter thinks that they do not deserve it.”

On the bright side, my Friday rakeback deposit helped my bankroll recover a bit. So at least I got that going for me!

God Bless the $5 double or nothing sngs

This week is dead week – the week before finals in college where all your supposed to do is go to class and study.

Well I’ve been doing my fair share of studying, the other day I was done studying but my adderall hadn’t worn off yet so I hopped onto pokerstars for the first time in a while.

I had $53.80 in my account, enough for 10 of the $5.20 double or nothing turbo sngs, so I signed up for 10 and played away. Nine hours later, after playing what I would guess to be over 100 of these sit and goes, I’d got my bankroll up to $250. Not a bad way to wind down from studying if you ask me.

For now though, it’s back to the books. Cheers!

Sit and go bankroll builder

Since I was sick this week I really didn’t feel like playing many cash games.

I hopped onto my Pokerstars account which I had previously completely cashed out and started entering those 70 FPP sng satellites that you can win  $11 tournament dollars in.  I played 12 of them (I only play four at a time, so it was 3 different sessions) and won 3.  I took the $33 in tournament dollars and entered 6 of the $5 double-or-nothing turbo sit and goes.  It went well and I cashed in 5 of the 6 meaning that over the course of 3 hours I managed to grow my stars account from 0 to$50

I really don’t play much on pokerstars because I mainly play micro stakes cash games and you can’t datamine on pstars.  Maybe I’ll play a little more there now that I’ve got a little to throw around.

Hey hey

Hey to anyone willing to read this. I’m a low-stakes grinder ($10NL, $25NL, $50NL) who makes a little bit of money playing cash games, but usually pisses it away in tournaments, lol.

I’ll try to post my graph of march’s results sometime soon. I’ll be sticking to $10NL (0.05/0.10 blinds) until I win about 15 more buy ins since I recently cashed out half my roll to spend on booze and women (I’m a college guy).

Hopefully this blog will keep me focused on playing cash games, where I usually make my money, and away from tournaments – where I throw it away.
