First, thanks to everybody for tolerating my rant. I’m embarrased by it now, but it’s how I felt at the time. The reality of the situation is I have to back off and play less tables when I’m struggling. It’s so obvious. Any moron should be able to realize that you can’t move up and just start playing 12 tables at a new level that you haven’t succesfully figured out. I feel incredibly stupid in hindsight.
Of all places to be when I have zero confidence in my poker game. Bret and I arrived in Vegas yesterday and immediately checked in to the RIO. We’ll be her til Tuesday unless I go broke before (likely) or I simply miss my wife and kids too much and just bail. We’ll see how it goes. Deep down I’m a homebody so we’ll see how long I last. If I came here with a bunch of guys it would be one thing but it’s just Bret and I and his chick is flying in today so we’ll see how long I last basically wondering Vegas on my own.
But being the nerd that I am I brougt an extra monitor so I can grind if I feel like it. How sick is it when you are in Vegas and surrounded by a million donks, meatheads and strippers and you would prefer to be in your room grinding. LOSER!!!!!
I will say that Bret and I had a great dinner with an online legend last night and his assistant. We had a great time and both are playing in the main event so GL to both of you!!!!! I don’t want to jinx anything but we have some great things in the works for MPR and some cool partnerships that may develop. We’ll spill the beans when we can but it’s a very exciting time for 2 poker nerds that do a poker show just because we love it.
Speaking of Vegas, if any of you are in town leave a comment about where you are and maybe Bret and I can meet up with anyone interested for a happy hour. I’m assuming some are in town for the ME? Maybe I’m being presumptious but if anybody wants to meet up for a drink or play some low stakes poker leave a comment. Peace and GL!
Oh by the way! We saw Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Charles Barkley, Annie Duke, Don Cheadle, Sarah Silverman, Jason Alexander, Brad Garret, Cedric the Entertainer, Antonio Esfandiari and a bunch of others at the Ante Up for Africa event. We used our media credential to get in and rub elbows. I have to say we were too star struck to say anything to them although I did yell to Barkley that he should be on the range instead of playing cards. He ignored me. Shocker!
